Hi, I’m Hassan. I’ve spent the last decade supercharging teams to help companies get unstuck. I combine a background in software engineering with behavioral psychology, to help executives:

  • Get their organizations to the next level,

  • Identify and fix problems that are causing a downward spiral, and

  • Adapt their products to a changing market.

The Story

After graduating with my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, I spent 8 years building software for Microsoft, followed by a short stint at a local Seattle startup. I realized that the issue plaguing software engineering was less about the tech stack, hiring the smartest people, or the deepest pockets.

The problem facing software engineering was organizational dysfunction - teams couldn’t work together, align on a vision and shared priorities, and handle conflict. The smallest change to the original scope broke brittle teams into factions that fought amongst themselves and lost sight of the larger goal.

I left the software field to pursue my M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Vanguard University, focusing on Systems Theory and how changes start and propagate through families, teams, and organizations. I spent hundreds of hours leading change through my work with families, couples, teens, and children. At last I had found the missing piece that the field of software engineering needs to build strong teams that can break through walls and deliver amazing products. In short, Technology needs Psychology. And Psychology needs Technology.

I joined a software consulting practice specializing in digital transformations, working with companies in the finance, insurance, transportation, entertainment, retail, and healthcare spaces. I left after 5 years to begin my own practice focused on fixing dysfunctional teams. As an engineer I am uniquely positioned to gain the trust of other engineers, and my psychological training allows me to fix the dynamics that slow teams down.

Today I coach and consult with companies to get their software products to market faster. I look forward to working with you.
